Mexico, Feb (Notimex) .- Specialists from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN,for its acronym in Spanish) developed a technological procedure to make wastewater drinkable.
The method contemplates adding gas to water and exposing it to hydrate formation temperatures to separate contaminants. The main advantage of this process is that it does not generate any chemical reaction, which makes it friendly to the environment.
The project is headed by the researcher Luis Alejandro Galicia Luna, from the School of Chemical Engineering and Extractive Industries (ESIQIE, for its acronym in Spanish) under the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN).
This technological procedure is in an experimental stage with a view to extrapolating it to industrial processes, to meet the prevailing need to remedy and purify wastewater.
