Minimum wage hike is good for equality: Business leaders
Mexico (Notimex) - Mexico's private sector praised the government's minimum wage hike, a move that will make the country more equal, said Juan Pablo Castañón, president of the Business Coordinating Council.
The wage hike won't have a negative impact on inflation and won't mean prices will rise Castañón added. On the contrary, he added that the move will reactivate the economy and boost employment.
"The move puts the minimum wage slightly above the wellness line and protects three fundamental aspects of the economy: inflation, employment and purchasing power," he said.
Castañón added that the private sector praises the fact that there will be no artificial salary raises, rather a realistic and responsible improvement.
