International Hot Air Balloon Festival seen generating more than $34 million
León (Notimex) - The International Hot Air Balloon Festival in the city of León, Guanajuato, will generate more than $34 million for the local economy, said the event's director, Escandra Salim.
The festival will take place from November 16 to 19.
"We must show the world with these images what Mexico is about, who we are. These images go around the world and we present a different country," Salim added.
She added that the festival is always looking to innovate and this year, part of the event will be to paint the sky with special shapes never before seen in the world.
The event will also host concerts with artists including CNCO and Los Angeles Azules.
"This is the event that has seen the most transformation in the country. We've grown 1,600 percent since the first edition, no one imagined the potential and the transformation this event would have," Salim said.
Pilots from 23 countries will take part in the festival.
