Mexican economy to grow 1.7 percent by 2019: Monex
Mexico (Notimex) - Financial firm Monex said that it forecasts Mexico's economy to grow 1.7 percent by 2019.
Growth will depend on the public spending budget next year, which must maintain the promise of a continued fiscal surplus, said Monex's deputy director of economic analysis, Janeth Quiroz.
She added that the next administration must confirm its commitment to maintain healthy public spending focusing on fiscal consolidation.
Referring to the exchange rate against the dollar, Quiroz said that by the end of this year the peso will likely be at 19.80 to the dollar.
In terms of inflation, this year it will close at 4.5 percent, but expects a drop to 4 percent next year.
Among the companies that will see the best performance in the markets next year are Mexichem, Alsea, Alpek and Walmart de Mexico.
