Francisco Toledo Day of the Dead exhibit in Toronto

Toronto (Notimex) - A collection of pieces by Mexican artist Francisco Toledo with a Day of the Dead theme will be inaugurated this week at the Artscape Wychwood Barns in Toronto.

The exhibit, called "When the Tecolote Sings," includes paintings, engravings and sculptures, and includes 11 artists: Ed Pien, Luis Rojas, Jesús Mora, Patricia Deadman, Oscar Camilo de las Flores, César Correa, Morris Wazney, Juan Alcázar, Alec Dempster, Lulú Ladrón de Guevara and María Luisa de Villa.

"Choosing these artists was a collective and creative process. We talked with each artists to find the best place for their works," said curators De Villa, Mora and Rojas.

The exhibit will be open to the public for the whole week and is part of the Day of the Dead celebrations carried out each year by the Mexican and Latino community in Canada.
