Researchers in Yucatán develop hybrid solar-powered all-terrain vehicle
Mérida (Notimex) – A group of researchers from the Yucatán Scientific Research Institute has developed a hybrid solar-powered all-terrain vehicle.
The aim is to create efficient and environmentally friendly transport solutions.
The main goal of the vehicle is to offer a transport option for rural communities, and even cities, to cut down the environmental impact caused by traditional vehicles, said the project’s leader Victor Manuel Ramírez Rivera.
Ramírez added that one of the highlights of solar-powered cars is that they don’t rely on batteries and their performance is much better than electric vehicles.
The vehicle can travel 30 kilometers with its current energy storage capacity.
