Mexico (Notimex) – Mexico is a strategic platform for companies in Galicia, Spain, as it allows access to North and South American markets.
“In the past two years, we’ve increased our exports to Mexico more than 40 percent, and there are currently 500 companies exporting to that market. Over the past year, exports surpassed 500 million euros,” said Juan Manuel Cividanes, director of the Galician Economic Promotion Institute.
He added that one of the main goals of the Institute is to reach more agreements with Mexican companies, due to the country’s growth and potential.
“We also want Galicia to be an attractive destination for Mexican investment,” he added.
Agri-food exports from Galicia to Mexico grew more than 200 percent from 2015 to 2017, mainly preserved seafood, wine and oils.
