Mexico's first electric car firm launches production
Puebla (Notimex) - Zacua, the company and the name of Mexico's first electric car, has begun production of the vehicle in its plant in the state of Puebla.
The first units are expected to be available to the public in May.
The production of the vehicles is almost artisan-level, said Zacua CEO Jorge Martínez, in order to ensure they comply with user requirements.
The engines are developed by Dynamik Technological Alliance, through a partnership with French firm Chatenet.
The company aims to produce 100 cars this year, and double that amount next year, until it reaches full production capacity of 2,000 units per year.
