Harvard promotes "innovation ecosystems" in Mexico

Boston - Harvard University has launched a program in the northern Mexican state of Sonora to promote "innovation ecoystems".

The program aims to ease access to financial and technical support to create high impact businesses.

Harvard aims to subsequently launch the program in Jalisco.

The program brings together local authorities, universities, investors, entrepreneurs and citizens to create connections that create sustainable businesses focused on technology.

Mexico leads Latin America in terms of innovation ecosystems, but is still behind the U.S., said Ramón Sanchez, corporate strategy director at Harvard's Environmental and Health Research Center.
