Enel begins construction of wind park in Tamaulipas

Mexico (Notimex) - Italy's Enel, through its subsidiary Enel Green Power Mexico, has begun construction of its 93-Megawatt Salitrillos wind farm in the northern state of Tamaulipas.

The investment for the project is approximately $120 million.

The new farm is set to begin operations in 2019, and will generate some 400 Gigawatts per year.

The company said that the building site holds a Sustainable Construction Site certificate, for the recycling processes and water saving measures used.

After Mexico's energy reform, Enel was awarded four contracts for wind farms, for a total of 593 Megawatts.
