Mexico (Notimex) - A program called "Tesoros de México," (Treasures of Mexico) has created 3,000 direct jobs and created 129 companies in 13 states, said Salvador Sánchez, undersecretary of Quality and Regulation at the Tourism Ministry.
The program also registered nearly $2.7 million pesos in sales of lixury services, he added.
The investment in this program has helped its companies increase their competitiveness.
"Tourists are now more demanding and selective, they want more information about the destinations they visit," Sánchez said.
"That's why this program helps them enjoy Mexico's traditional and modern styles, gastronomy and color," he added.
The program mainly helps companies improve their services for tourists.
