Mexico (Notimex) -- Mexico is the chair of the 2017 World Space Week, which takes place from October 4 to 10.
The event was inaugurated by the Mexican Space Agency.
The science community is committed to doubling efforts in spreading and boosting the benefits of technology, said the Agency's chief Javier Mendieta.
"The World Space Week is an opportunity to spark interest in the country's youth to take part in science and technological development. Mexico's youth has all the talent needed," he added.
