Canada's Justin Trudeau to visit Mexico to boost ties

Mexico (Notimex) -- Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will visit Mexico from on October 12 and 13, following an official visit to his country by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Both leaders will discuss the strengthening of competitiveness, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as boosting trade flows.

Last year, Canada was Mexico's fourth largest trading partner, with bilateral commerce reaching more than $20 billion.

Canada showed its solidarity with Mexico after the September 19 earthquake by sending tents, a rescue team and a $100,000 donation to the Mexican Red Cross, the Mexican Foreign Ministry said.
