Mexico (Notimex) – Mexican carmaker Sapi has launched the Zacua, the first, 100 percent Mexican-made electric vehicle.
The car’s production plant is in the eastern state of Puebla, where 30 employees will make the first 100 units.
Sapi expects to launch the Zacua this year, but did not specify a date.
The Zacua’s charging time is eight hours, and will cost some $460,000 pesos ($25,400 dollars), said Sapi CEO Jorge Martínez.
He added that production of the Zacua will reach 200 units in 2018 and up to 300 units in 2019.
